Taxuschinensis var. mairei

An evergreen member of Taxus (Taxaceae), is an endemic species inChina which is now under national protection of first class. Its seeds come from the redfleshy aril. T. chinensis is one of the endemic components inseveral zones of China (subtropical to warm temperate zone), which is alsodistributed in broad-leaved forest.

Distribution

There is a large area of cultivation inTiantai Mountain (Hongan county).
