Introduction about Plant Resources

Huanggang Dabieshan Geopark of Hubei is rich in plant resources, consisting of 10 vegetation types and 52 formations. Totally, there are 1461 vascular plant species belonging to 663 genus (195 families). This park has abundant rareand endangered plants (43 Chinese endemic species), of which 18 are national key protected wild plants including 2 first-level protected species (Ginkgo biloba and Taxus mairei) and 16 second-level protected ones (Pinus fenzeliana var.dabeshanensis, Pseudolarix kaempferi, Torreya fargesii, Magnolia officinalis, Magnoliaoffinalis var. biloba, Liriodendronchinense, Cinnamomum camphora, Phoebe zhennan, Zelkovaserrata, etc.). In southern slope of Dabieshan (Hubei province), this area is the only surviving typical place of East China flora, where the Magnolia sieboldii, Pinus dabeshanensis, Salviadabieshanensis, Clematislongistyla and Berberis anhweiensis arewell preserved.
