Guifeng Peak(Stone Tortoise)

Grotesquely-shapedgranite rock. The peak-forming rock mass is Middle Jurassic (160 Ma) gneissicgranite, which was formed during the process of orogenic uplift and magmaticintrusion during the Yanshan Movement (210-65 Ma). Block mountains withmultiple sets of joints and fractures were generally formed in the Dabieshanarea during the Himalayan Movement (since 30 Ma). Due to long years ofspheroidal weathering, gravitational denudation and rainwater erosion, a stone tortoiseis formed, chin in the air with its head held high as if asking the heaven. The300-meter-high stone tortoise is straight and imposing and is renowned as “TheNumber One Stone Tortoise”.
