Rare animals in Dabieshan

There are many kinds of animals living in Huanggang Dabieshan Geopark of Hubei with 208 kinds of terrestrial vertebrates, including 27 kinds of animals of national key protection, such as Moschus moschiferus, leopard under first-class state protection, pangolin, jackal, otter, rasse andso on under second-class state protection. In addition, most of the insect species in Hubei Province can be found in this Geopark, among which Carabuslafossei and Luehdorfia chinensis are under national key protection. Besides, this Geopark is endowed with varieties of fresh water fishes.

As the important “Species Gene Pool”, “Natural Oxygen Bar” and the famous summer resort of eastern Hubei Province, Huanggang Dabieshan Geopark of Hubei is a paradise for more than 2000 species. The mysterious virgin forest, beautiful rhododendrons bushes and the conservation garden of vines, the famous wood and ancient trees, rare medicinal herbs and rare plants constitute the important natural ecosystems of the Dabie Mountain.
